WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND AND HOW EXPERIENCED ARE YOU IN ELECTRICAL WORK?Hiring an Electrician

Key Questions to Ask Before Hiring an Electrician

When hiring an electrician, experience and qualifications are essential. Floener Electric has been a trusted local business for 31 years and is proudly recognized as the #1 Electrical Contractor in the Tri-County area. Our team includes four Electrical Journeymen, one of whom is a Master Electrician, with nearly a century of combined experience. Specializing in both residential and commercial electrical work. Continuing education is mandatory and keeping up with industry standards is a priority.

ARE YOU LICENSED AND BONDED?

It’s crucial to ensure your electrical contractor is licensed and bonded to protect you and your property. Floener Electric is fully licensed and bonded in the state of Washington. You can easily verify our credentials and contractor information through the Washington State Labor and Industries website. Additionally, all of our electricians and apprentices hold up-to-date electrical certifications, which are also verifiable on the same platform.

WILL YOU FURNISH ME WITH A LIST OF YOUR PAST CUSTOMERS?

Testimonials and reviews are extremely important when hiring an electrician. Floener Electric will give you as many references as you need. Most of our business is from customer referrals and our repeat customers. That should tell you a great deal right there.

WILL YOU FURNISH ME WITH DETAILED SPECIFICATIONS?

At Floener Electric, we believe in transparency. Our estimates are broken down into general pricing categories, and we provide detailed explanations based on the specific scope of work. When you receive an invoice, it will clearly list each part, material, and labor cost, so you know exactly what you’re paying for. If you need further clarification before accepting an estimate, we’re more than happy to provide additional details.

IS YOUR ESTIMATE ACCURATE?

We understand the importance of accurate estimates. Floener Electric takes pride in ensuring that the actual job cost is close to or even lower than the estimate provided. The more detailed the scope of work, the more accurate the estimate. When comparing estimates from different companies, it’s essential to ensure the scope of work is consistent across all quotes. You’ll only be invoiced for the actual work completed, not just the estimate. While minor adjustments can occur during the job, we strive to account for all possible expenses upfront.

ARE YOU A MEMBER OF ANY TRADE ORGANIZATIONS?

It’s essential to hire a contractor that is recognized by reputable trade organizations. Floener Electric is a proud member in good standing of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors, the National Federation of Independent Business, the Spokane Home Builders Association, and the Better Business Bureau. These memberships reflect our commitment to supporting both the electrical industry and our local community.

WHAT INSURANCE DO YOU CARRY TO PROTECT ME IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT?

If someone gets hurt on the job, and it can happen, you may have to pay for that workman’s injuries and support unless your electrician is properly insured. Request a copy of your electrician’s insurance policy and make sure the coverage is adequate. Floener Electric has always carried more insurance than they need or are required and fortunately have never had to use it. They will supply you with a copy of that insurance policy, L&I coverage and bond if requested.

WHAT KIND OF GUARANTEE DO YOU OFFER AND IS IT IN WRITING?

You take pride in your home and your contractor should as well. Make sure your electrical contractor does have a warranty guarantee. Floener Electric has a written fabulous 5-year guarantee and satisfaction for life. We strive to do the job right the first time, but if not, we will work until you are completely satisfied. Floener Electric’s work is top notch and we are here to prove it. We will do everything possible to ensure your satisfaction. Terms and conditions apply. See us for details.

DO YOU OFFER FINANCING?

Floener Electric does not currently offer financing. Our terms are Net 10. We do this to save our customers money because we do not have bad debt. We accept credit cards with no fee, check and cash.

HOW MUCH MONEY DO I NEED TO PAY UP FRONT?

Payment structures vary, but as a general guideline, you should not be asked to pay the full amount upfront. Floener Electric typically requests a 50% deposit before work begins. This ensures that we have the necessary resources to complete your project to the highest standard.
